Our Irish vineyard
We planted the first vine in Wexford in 2015 and we crafted our first wine in 2019.
A path-breaking vineyard in Ireland, using state-of-the-art viticultural techniques, is the home for more than 11,000 vines, a number that will soon increase.
Trellis systems, pruning methods, harvesting, soil management, direct grafting on the fields… our team is at the forefront of winemaking, with techniques we have customized and put to the test in Irish fields every year.
Our R&D department collaborates with some of the most important European and American vine nurseries to carefully select and adapt specific varietals to be grown in Irish soil and climate.
It meant long, hard work, with several trials and errors but the result is the perfect fruit that allows us to produce the finest and most unique wines.
Our winery
The Old Roots winery has the most up-to-date winemaking technology, with solutions developed by our engineering team and built exclusively for us.
Currently, our premises are large enough to support an annual production that could reach 25,000 bottles. Soon, that figure will increase to 100,000 bottles, and in the medium term the winery will be able to hold half a million bottles.
We have our own in-house certified laboratory, which helps us guarantee an absolute and constant control over the quality of our grapes and wines. Staff training is essential for us, and that is why we have implemented a continuous learning program overseen by our chief oenologist. Every machinery in the winery comply with the highest European industrial standards.
All our facilities have been approved by the HSE, and they undergo regular inspections. We have been registered as food producers and manufacturers since 2018.

With their own, undeniable Irish character, these wines voice the spirit of their aromatic varietals, nuanced and enhanced by the climate of the region and the terroir of our vineyards.

A true sample of class and taste, born from the adaptability of perfectly chosen varietals that display all their characteristics in wines of intense red or dark violet colours, that bring long taste, fruity notes and a surprising body.
